100th Day Highlights

We read the story Pigs In Hiding and then searched our room to find 100 pigs that were 'hiding'. We did it! Then each student was responsible for placing their 6 found pigs into the hundreds chart. We practiced identifying numbers 1-100 and skip counting by 10's, 2's and 5's. It was so much fun!

We also made Fruit Loop necklaces where we counted out 100 fruit loops. Most of us counted 100 using colored groups of 10. This was an excellent strategy to keep track of all those delicious loops!

Finally, we ended our day with a 100th day snack. Each table was responsible for making ten cups of ten snack items. We added 100 snacks at a time and tallied the total to see how many snacks were combined. Who knew 1600 snacks would be so delicious?!

No 100th day would be complete without taking a look at 100 items. What does that look like? We took the time to share and compare the 100 items each child brought in and talked about why they looked different when they all had 100.
